The Churchill Living Group is celebrating raising a grand total of £63,876 for Macmillan Cancer Support in 2024 by taking part in the charity’s Coffee Morning campaign and other fundraising activities for the 15th year running. Churchill has a special relationship with Macmillan Cancer Support and has now raised £800,000 for the charity since 2009.
Our apartment Owners, Colleagues and Business Partners up and down the country supported the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in 2024 by hosting coffee mornings, cake sales, bake-off competitions and raffles to help support Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event of the year. The Company also donated £5 for every new Customer who attended Macmillan Coffee Mornings at its newest developments during the campaign.
Concorde Lodge in Bristol raised the most for an individual development, with an impressive total of £2,671. Other top fundraisers who deserve a special mention are Greenacres Lodge in Warlingham (£2,190), Gidea Lodge in Romford (£1,575), and Beatrice Lodge in Sittingbourne (£1,177).
Further funds were also raised through a Grand Prize Draw run by our own charity, the Churchill Foundation. Colleagues took part for the chance to win an amazing array of prizes donated by some of our generous Business Partners.
The money raised is enough to pay for the following:
- £63,876 could support Macmillan’s Cancer Information and Support team to run its Macmillan Support Line phone service for 123 hours. In this time, they could deal with 2,960 calls and web enquiries from people who want questions answered, need practical or financial support.
- £63,876 could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for 456 days, helping people living with cancer receive the support they need.
- £63,876 could pay for a Macmillan Nurse for 1 year, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
Leanne Thomas, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, said:
“We would like to say a huge thank you to all the wonderful coffee morning hosts and supporters at Churchill Living Group who contributed to raising such an incredible total in 2024. Their fantastic support has made a real difference for people living with cancer, funding vital support services for those who need it most and helping ensure no one has to face cancer alone. Churchill Living bring fun, enthusiasm, kindness and compassion to all they do for Macmillan, and we are grateful and excited to be working together again for 2025.”
Clinton McCarthy, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Churchill Living, added:
“The Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events are a fantastic way to bring our Colleagues, apartment Owners and local communities together whilst raising money for a very deserving cause. It was great to see everyone joining in once again, and I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone involved for helping us to raise such an impressive total yet again in 2024.”
