Churchill’s Warming Morning events raise over £7,800 for more than 50 charities across the country

Throughout February, Owners and Colleagues at Churchill developments up and down the country helped raise over £7,800 for more than 50 different charities through the return of its special “Warming Mornings” initiative.

The Company was delighted to once again be able to invite local people to step out of the cold and into the warmth of its developments’ friendly Owners’ Lounges, where they could enjoy coffee, cake and a chat in return for a small donation, with all the money raised going towards local causes chosen by its apartment Owners and Colleagues. These ranged from hospices, air ambulances, food banks, counselling services and many more.

Avonbank Lodge in Newbury earned special recognition for achieving the highest fundraising total from across the Group, with £495 raised for Newbury Cancer Care. This amount will be matched by Churchill’s own charity – the Churchill Foundation – to make a total of £990 for the charity.

Other top fundraisers included Betjeman Lodge in Ludlow (£375 for Hope House Children’s Hospice), Headley and Emmeline Lodges in Surrey (£396 for Princess Alice Hospice), and Hubert Lodge in Hythe (£374 for Oakhaven Hospice). These totals will also be matched by the Churchill Foundation.

Churchill Foundation Trustee Emma McCarthy, said: “We’re delighted by the success of this year’s Warming Morning events, which enabled us to raise funds for a wide range of great charities and local causes around the country. It was the perfect excuse for our apartment Owners and their friends and family to enjoy a bit of indulgence, as well as an opportunity for visitors to experience the lifestyle, friendship and sense of community on offer at our developments.”
